SSAI is ready for CMMC compliance, as assessed by a certified third-party assessor
DEC 2021: SSAI recently underwent a Readiness Assessment measured against both a NIST SP 800-171 scorecard and CMMC v2.0 Level 2 controls, and demonstrated “commitment to secure their environment by providing top level support, dedicated IT/Security professionals, and a mature security program”, as stated by a registered provider organization (RPO). Organizations that store, process, or transmit DoD federal contract information (FCI) or controlled unclassified information (CUI) are required to comply with the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC). SSAI confirmed that its trained staff is in fact, prepared for CMMC Level 2.
SSAI is on its third 3-year certification cycle for AS9100. In Oct 2020, SSAI successfully underwent a full re- assessment audit by our registrar NQA with only two minor nonconformance identified at three operational Sites. In November 2021, SSAI underwent its first Surveillance year cycle at two Sites and received ZERO nonconformance. The NQA auditor, Mr. Curt Malam recognized the maturity of the SSAI Quality Management System and was impressed by the employees he audited and commented at the out brief on the high skill levels of our employees.
On September 3, 2021, SSAI was awarded Option 1 of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) fixed-wing platforms software support contract. SSAI is performing sustainment of software systems and associated avionics systems Work is being performed at SSAI’s Warner Robins location.
SSAI attended the Airlift Tanker Association Conference/Symposium in Orlando, FL, 28-31 Oct.
SSAI attended the 2021 Joseph P. Cribbins Symposium, 16-17 Nov, Huntsville, AL.
On June 8, 2021, as part of a five (5) year IDIQ contract, SSAI was awarded its first option year in support of depot level repair requirements of B-1B Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) Components. SSAI assists the DoD to increase operational test capability of the Intermediate and Enhanced Automated Special Test Equipment for B-1 avionics and defensive systems. This work is being performed at SSAI’s Melbourne Florida location.
Robins AFB Contracting Directorate has established an Industry Outreach Program to be hosted the first Tuesday of each month. This is an in-person event or you may participate virtually. The initial meeting consisted of introductions of RAFB Contracting Leadership, brief overviews of contract portfolios, and a question and answer session. The program is accepting the challenge from General CQ Brown, Chief of Staff of the AF, “Accelerate Change or Lose.” Contracting is asking Defense Contractors to help do just that. SSAI did participate in the kick-off program and will participate in as many as possible going forward. Future Program events will consist of briefing by PEO/SPO/Senior Leaders from each directorate.
SSAI is a member of the working group, made up of Defense Contractors and Robins AFB personnel, for the upcoming Robins Requirements Symposium to be hosted at the Museum of Aviation 26 March 2022. The working group meets each month.
